How long have you been at Caltronics?

12 months, I hit my first year mark earlier this month.

Why did you join Caltronics?

After meeting with Mike Phipps and Adam Carter I was instantly impressed with their knowledge, competitiveness and desire to be the best. I also grew up around the Reilly family so I was excited about working in such a family oriented environment.

What’s the best thing about working at Caltronics?

The best thing about working at Caltronics is the people that work here, working with some of my closest friends, the customers that we all work with and finding solutions to their problems.

Where did you work before Caltronics?

I worked at two semiconductor companies in the bay area (Zilog and NXP Semiconductors). I also accepted a position at NetApp before changing directions and joining the Caltronics team.

Where did you go to college and what did you study?

I graduated from Santa Clara University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Management and a minor in Economics.

Do you play any sports? Tell us about them.
I played basketball all four years of high school and boxed for a year at SCU. I also coached the frosh/soph men’s basketball team at Santa Clara High School for three years. I still enjoy playing
basketball and football.

What do you love to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my friends, family, girlfriend and dog. I also play in an old man’s basketball and football league twice a week, which is a lot of fun.

What might a co-worker be surprised to know about you?

A co-worker might be surprised that I enjoy cooking.

Age: 30

How long have you been at Caltronics?

About 3 years.

Why did you join Caltronics?
I like the mix of technology, customer interaction, and travel/change of scenery that the Training position offers. Upon my first visit to the office, I also immediately enjoyed the people that work at Caltronics. Everyone that I met seemed to have a great attitude. As a smallish company, it was exciting to see that everyone actively contributed to the company’s success.
What’s the best thing about working at Caltronics?
As a trainer, I think the best aspect of working at Caltronics is definitely the company’s unique ability to provide services to all types of businesses and organizations. Because our products and services can be beneficial to a seemingly unending array of companies, I find myself teaching product functionality to a wide variety of clients. I can be teaching police officers one hour and be standing in front of a group of nuns the next hour. Another day, you may find me at a construction site before lunch and on the 18th floor of a high-rise working with the architects and engineers after lunch.

Where did you work before Caltronics?
Before Caltronics, I was working in a hospital as a nurse’s aide on the Step-Down/Bariatric unit in West Virginia.

Where did you go to college and what did you study?
I went to UC Davis and studied Exercise Biology with a focus on Physiology.

Do you play any sports? Tell us about them.
I love to play pick-up games of any sort! It’s just fun to get in the sun and play around. It helps me to release a lot of the everyday stresses and pressures of the world. I played football at my bay area high school and rugby in college at UC Davis. I received the Most Valuable Player Award for the B-side rugby team in Davis. Once I learned the rules of rugby it was a whole lotta fun. I played loose forward, which is like a the utility player in rugby. Loose forwards pretty much follow the ball everywhere it goes tackling, rucking (aka knocking the other team away from the ball), kicking, and passing. After games, both teams would get together to eat, drink, and have a good time. Any sport or activity, period, that allows for that level of camaraderie is great for humanity.

What do you love to do in your spare time?
I like to visit friends and family. Play video games, of course. I also immensely enjoy nature and I try to get outside as much as possible.

What might a co-worker be surprised to know about you?

I used to play the tuba and sousaphone for years as a kid and in high school. The marching band was awesome!

How long have you been at Caltronics?

Why did you join Caltronics?

I joined team Caltronics because of the opportunity to work with awesome people. The direction of the company is incredible and the sky is really the limit for all of us here. I was blessed to know the Reilly family since 7th grade and understand all of the great values the Reilly’s stand for.

What’s the best thing about working at Caltronics?

People, People, People. Our staff is second to none.

Where did you work before Caltronics?

I worked in Oakland with the Golden State Warriors in the ticket sales department. As much as I would like to take credit for their great start to the season, I had nothing to do with it.

Where did you go to college and what did you study?

Menlo College is where I graduated from with a degree in Mass Communication Marketing. I had a great experience and was fortunate to graduate in four years. The relationships I made were life long relationships and it didn’t hurt living in beautiful Menlo Park.

Do you play any sports? Tell us about them.

I was born with a basketball in my hand from day 1. I played basketball four years at Menlo College and made all-conference my senior year. Before Menlo, I played 4 years of hoop at Jesuit High School in Sacramento with fellow Caltronics employees Kyle Harvey, Rod Hawkins, Dan Reilly Jr., Marquese Smith, and Adam Wager. We are currently in the process of having Mr. Reilly sponsor a Caltronics basketball team. Stay tuned.

What do you love to do in your spare time?

The relationships we make in life is what it is all about. I enjoy spending time with friends and family as much as possible along with staying active with sports.

What might a co-worker be surprised to know about you?

Well, I heard we have a lot of golfers here at team Caltronics. I actually was in a competitive golf league during ages 10-12. There were prizes for the top players along with challenges through out the 18 holes of play. I was pretty good back then. But, in this day and age, make sure you are ready to yell FORE when I hit the ball!
