Caltronics Presidents Club Visits Spanish Bay

Here at Caltronics, we make a special effort to recognize and reward our hard working employees. Our Presidents Club recognizes our company’s top sales achievers. Every year we take Presidents Club members on a four day weekend to the Monterey and Carmel area to enjoy golf, dining, and have a fun bonding experience together.

They recently returned from this year’s trip and shared a few photos of their fun in the sun with us. As you can see below, the Presidents Club members visited Spanish Bay in Monterey for a round of golf, followed by eats and drinks on the resort patio.

They lucked out and had gorgeous sunny weather with a clear day on the course, perfect for enjoying the beautiful ocean views. After a long relaxing weekend on the coast, we hope they returned ready to hit the ground running for another great year!

Employee Feature: Gina Pimental

Gina PimentalThis is Gina Pimental, the coordinator of our HP Toner Program. She actually lives across the country in Florida – she moved out there from Northern California when her husband became the equipment manager for the Miami Heat (he previously worked for the Sacramento Kings). Despite the distance, she has continued working remotely for Caltronics, helping to run the HP Toner Program, and we’re so glad to have her on our team. Learn more about Gina, what she does at Caltronics, and her connection to the NBA Champions below:

Tell us a little about what you do in your position coordinating the HP Toner Program.

I oversee all aspects of the program.  I add in all contracts, oversee all orders being placed by our customer service reps, give sales reps pricing, be a contact for the customer for all their needs which may include placing service calls and toner orders and I assist Kyle Julian, our HP Program sales rep, in anything that he may need to give our customers on the Program the best customer service experience.

How long have you been at Caltronics?

It’ll be 5 years at the end of the month.

Why did you join Caltronics? 

I was apart of an acquisition from a smaller company but was excited to stay on with Caltronics for the opportunity to grow within the company.

What’s the best thing about working at Caltronics?

I love the core group of people I work with and although Caltronics is growing, it still feels like a small family company.

Despite moving across the country, you continue to work with Caltronics remotely. What made you want to continue working at Caltronics? 

I care about the HP Toner Program succeeding and I know the ins and outs of it.  And Kyle Julian and I make a great team!

Your husband works as equipment manager for the Miami Heat, who were NBA Champions in 2012 and 2013. What has been the most exciting moment for you (and/or your husband) being part of this winning team?

Being at every playoff game is exciting but getting that championship ring is pretty unbelievable.

What do you love to do in your spare time? 

I love taking advantage of going to the beach when I can since it’s down the street and I can go anytime of the year here in Miami!

What might a co-worker be surprised to know about you?

Department Feature: Customer Service

Customer Service Department

Today we’re excited to introduce you to our Customer Service Department. They provide the frontline of customer service for Caltronics. Chrissy Beretta is the Customer Service Manager at Caltronics. She leads the Customer Service Department, which has six other people: Andy McDonald, Adam Her, Brian Cowan, Richard Bryant, Taryn Bramow and William Solis.

Chrissy describes their roles in the Customer Service Department like this: The Education Specialist (Customer Service Representative) equally supports our Service Department and Sales. The Education Specialist is the frontline of customer service, in charge of meeting the educational needs of every customer in a friendly and helpful manner. In addition to education for every customer, the Education Specialist will assist the branch manager to ensure product familiarity among sales representatives.

What do you all enjoy about your positions at Caltronics?

Chrissy: I love a new challenge everyday. My day is never the same. Meeting new people is exciting and refreshing. It is very satisfying to help someone and to know that you had a direct impact in their work flow. Working for Caltronics is fun, challenging and hands on every day.

Richard: I enjoy being able to walk into so many different work environments and see the many ways our MFP’s are utilized. I enjoy meeting all the people who use our equipment and being able to help them make their jobs easier.

Adam: What I enjoy the most is that I get to meet new people everyday. Everyday I come to work; there are different scenarios and situations which makes the days unpredictable.

Taryn: As a trainer I am privileged to teach our customers. I am passionate about being able to answer questions and help the customers learn what the machines offer. With this knowledge the customer has the ability to make their day to day tasks simpler and more efficient. I love that I am part of that process.

Brian: As a trainer, I think the best aspect of working at Caltronics is definitely the company’s unique ability to provide services to all types of businesses and organizations. Because our products and services can be beneficial to a seemingly unending array of companies, I find myself teaching product functionality to a wide variety of clients.

William: I enjoy meeting with people, teaching, helping people, the challenge of resolving issues that each company i deal with gives me.

What do you think is the best thing about working at Caltronics?

Chrissy: The people I work with are inspiring. I feel lucky to be a part of such an amazing company. Many of our employees have been working here for 10 years or more and it feels like working with extended family. Great people make for a happy workplace.

Richard: I like resources our team has at its finger tips. Some of the best in people in our industry are right here with Caltronics. Just a phone call away and no problem ever seems out of reach.

Adam: The people I work with. It’s a great feeling when you work with people who appreciate you and your work

Taryn: every employee at Caltronics truly does care about the customer. It shows with how we all take an active role in making sure each and every customer is taken care of.

Brian: I like the mix of technology, customer interaction, and travel/change of scenery that the Training position offers. Upon my first visit to the office, I also immediately enjoyed the people that work at Caltronics. Everyone that I met seemed to have a great attitude.

William: The support, the tools and people I work with. Everyone I have worked with at Caltronics are always willing to assist and or advise. Have had training when new Products come out.

Outside of the office, what kinds of things do you love doing?

Chrissy: I love playing soccer and staying active. Boating, camping, hiking, skiing, paddle boarding and sporting clays are a few of my favorite things to do.

Richard: Golfing with my friends seems to be #1 right now in my life. I enjoy doing so much that all it takes is a suggestion and I am there!

Adam: I like to hang out with the family. I have 4 kids so they pretty much keep me occupied outside of work. When I get time to myself, I spend my time restoring my car (1973 Toyota Celica).

Taryn: I love spending time with family, friends, and my puppy. I enjoy sports from coaching basketball to attending Giants games! Also, Tahoe is one of my favorite places. Any chance I get it I am up there enjoying the outdoors.

Brian: I like to visit friends and family. Play video games, of course. I also immensely enjoy nature and I try to get outside as much as possible.

William: Boating, water skiing, snow skiing, surfing, golf, reading a good book and having a few cocktails with friends.

Andy: In my spare time I like to golf, trying to get better at it, play racquetball at least a couple of times a week.

Employee Feature: Danielle Burgin

Danielle is the Customer Service Manager of our dispatchers, the team of customer service professionals at Caltronics. Work Life

1. What does “Customer Service” mean to you?

To me, Customer Service means providing exceptional service to each and every customer you come in contact with. Its going above and beyond to provide them with friendly and efficient service and treating them exactly as you would hope to be treated. There is no better feeling than to leave a conversation with a customer who was upset when they called you but left the conversation completely happy and satisfied.

2. What is your favorite part of working for Caltronics?

My favorite part of working for Caltronics is the people. There are so many amazing employees that work for the company that it makes for a fun work environment and it makes me look forward to coming to “Work” everyday 🙂

1. How do you like to spend your weekends?

My favorite thing to do on weekends is to spend time with my family. My husband and I have an amazing 4 year old boy that is the center of our universe and a little girl expected to be here any day now. We love doing everything from going to breakfast at the Waffle Barn (best waffles in Roseville btw) to going on road trips to Santa Cruz or Monterey. We love the beach! When the hubby and I get some time alone we like to go wine tasting in Napa.

We have 1 more dispatcher that we are excited to feature today. This is Julie Kohart, who works with the other Caltronics dispatchers to provide excellent customer service. If you need anything, they’re ready to assist you with a smile.

Work Life

1. What does “Customer Service” mean to you?

Customer service means to me being able to take the complexity of a problem the customer has and assisting/solving it for them. Anticipating their needs and wants and leaving the customer happy.

2.. What is your favorite part of working for Caltronics?

I work in a great environment which makes me enthusiastic about my job. My employer and coworkers are awesome people and great to talk to. Work is a challenge and I get different scenarios every few minutes so it keeps me on my toes.

3. In three words, what sums up the life & work of a dispatcher?

Communication ~ multi-tasking ~ efficient

Personal Life

1. What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

Relaxing with my friends and family. Enjoy partaking in road trips and going to country concerts. I play in social leagues such as Dodgeball, kickball and softball. Lastly, I like to drink wine on my back patio (it is my garden sanctuary) with friends.

2. How do you like to spend your weekends?

Camping on the coast or a nice random trip to Monterey. Line-dancing is always a fun past-time and enjoying festivities downtown Sacramento.
